A Scary Thought

The latest issue of Esquire featured an article by Thomas Barnett, who is becoming one of my favorite military writers even if I disagree with half of the premises from which he operates. The article is about Admiral William Fallon. He starts by saying, “If, in the dying light of the Bush administration, we go to war with Iran, it’ll all come down to one man. If we do not go to war with Iran, it’ll come down to the same man.” That man, Fallon, resigned yesterday. That doesn’t bode well for us, should Barnett be believed.
